Travel insurance

I know it’s not a legal requirement to have travel insurance, but with the amount of things that can go wrong, it’s a cheap way to ensure that there are no nasty surprises if you are taken ill.

Finding the right travel insurance for a trip abroad is not one of the most exciting parts in planning a holiday. There seems to be so many different types of insurance cover available and so many options, I think it’s a good idea to narrow your search down into two parts before you start keying in, firstly, area or location in which you are going to travel and then choose if its travel insurance cover for a single trip or for more than one trip in a year and then the final option is for a long stay policy which is basically anything from a month to 18 months.

The easier the quote engine the better.  Usually there are about 3 different choices, to include the US and Canada, one for Europe another for Australia and New Zealand and then the entire worldwide option.  Single trip or Annual or Backpacker travel insurance, are the options for trip duration. Cheaptravelinsurance.com is a great site that helps the simple travel insurance booker. The site immediately tells you that these two options are the most important; it goes on to offer additional activities and all the time it provides a handy little summary on the side of the page to tell you where you’re at.  Your travel insurance policy is immediately emailed and with the simple printing off of the policy, the most boring part is done!
